Mark R Mitchell was born in 1985 in Chester and he now lives in Helsby, England. After studying History at Durham University, he went on to teach in pupil referral units and prisons where he specialised in working with people struggling with mental health.

He is passionate about fantasy in all its forms. Since childhood he has had a love of Tolkien, fantasy novels and gamebooks, and video games. He is now also a keen wargammer and tabletop roleplayer.

He loves writing fantasy fiction and he intends to keep writing it until his last breath.
